Writing Sample – Score of 6
Hamlet says, Frailty, thy name is woman!” I say “Hamlet seems not to have understood real womanhood!” Two women from my life one thinks of to help support my point.
First, there was my mother. I cannot think about a finer mother, though, of course, i will be biased. When one thinks of a mother, a father is normally not far behind. Unfortunately for my loved ones, my dad’s frailty was was not physical. My mother, Gwen is her name, divorced my father after twenty years of marriage. I, the youngest of two, was twelve at the time. Though it was a very difficult decision to make, my mother found the strength to not only leave the person that were supporting her for twenty years but also to complete the raising of her twelve yr old daughter. I didn’t consult with my father following the divorce because he never came around, which certainly suggests the lack of character that lead to my mother’s decision. Despite the hardship, my mother made certain i had everything she could provide, best reasonably of which was her unqualified love.
The woman that is second support my case is part of my current life. Her name is Johanna. Johanna is thirty-one years old. She divorced the father of her daughter when her daughter was a child. She then raised this daughter towards the age of seven, with very visits that are few the little one’s father. Meanwhile the daddy had remarried and started a family that is new. Round the chronilogical age of seven, Johanna’s daughter began having tantrums that were well beyond the usual for a young child that age. Johanna searched for answers until one seemed obvious: though everything had be provided for the young child, she missed her father. So Johanna made arrangements to have her daughter part that is live together with her dad, while the tantrums ceased almost immediately. I am sure that has been a very decision that is hard one which only a remarkably strong woman will make.
The strength and courage they showed certainly suggest that Shakespeare’s character was more than a little short sighted in the cases of these two women.
Following is a sample of a writing test that would require a minumum of one semester of Developmental Education work. Take note description of a placement test score of 3 from the test description page while the annotation when it comes to sample below:
Community College of Philadelphia should provide free day care for the kids of single and dealing parents.
Sitters are to error that is(usage expensive unless you’re on some sort of welfare assistence (misspelling) .
If there is more daycare that is freecomma missing) than i do believe many more parents would attend Community to farther (usage error) there (usage error) education. Then better jobs might be found. (lack of specific development)
Actually, I’m not sure of a person with this problem now (comma missing) but i know plenty of twelfth grade students with this specific problem and it doesnt (contraction error) help. Plenty of them (inappropriate pronoun use) are preparing to drop out as a result (wordiness) for this. My twelfth grade had an application such as the day that is free mentioned in this issue and due to cutbacks they no longer have the service. This forces a lot of young girls out of school. And additionally they never return. (This paragraph does not address the main topic of daycare at Community College of Philadelphia)
If there is no program of day care in twelfth grade, how will they (not enough specific antecedent) ever think about college should they can’t finish twelfth grade without a day care program or someone to take chare(misspelling) of these child? (Again, point is topic that is off that is why i do believe Community should offer a free day care program to virtually any of their students. (as well as grammar, usage, and concentrate errors, this essay does not provide enough concrete detail to support its thesis.)
